That warning label on $1 plug-in air fresheners is not a joke
Left one plugged in behind the couch for 3 weeks straight and it melted the plastic housing overnight. Anyone else had these get scary hot on you?

Why would you keep it plugged in for 3 weeks straight though? They're designed for intermittent use, not permanent installation. Pretty sure the manual says unplug after 30 days or something. User error, not a product flaw.

Pretty sure the manual says unplug after 30 days" - okay but come on, who actually reads the manual cover to cover for a basic household gadget? Most people plug stuff in and forget about it. That's how normal humans use electronics. You're telling me every toaster, lamp, and phone charger in your house has a strict unplug schedule? I doubt it. The design should handle being plugged in for months without catching fire or breaking down. If it can't survive three weeks of continuous use, that's not user error, that's poor engineering. These companies cut corners on components to save a few cents and then blame us when it fails. They know people leave things plugged in. They're just covering their butts with that manual disclaimer.
