I finally toured the old drafting room at the county courthouse

They still have the original blueprint machines from the 60s in there (covered in dust) and the guy showing me around said they haven't been used since 2008. Did any of you ever work with those ammonia-based machines back in the day?

Honest question, how bad could it really be? I've seen people online act like those ammonia printers were some kind of torture device but a lot of that sounds like dramatic old timer stories to me. The guy probably just doesn't want anyone messing with the dusty relics. I mean yeah, ammonia isn't great to breathe all day but it's not like they were running them in a sealed closet with no ventilation.

Caught a video about those once and the guy compared the smell to a cat litter box that hasn't been cleaned in months.
