Showerthought: Setting up CAD layers first saves so much hassle

I used to jump right into drawing without planning my layers. Last month, I had to update an old floor plan and spent half a day just hunting for the right lines. It was frustrating and made me miss a deadline. Now, I always make a list of layers like walls, doors, and notes before I start. It only adds five minutes to my setup but cuts down on confusion later. How do you organize your layers? I'd love to hear what works for others.

Prefer sketching ideas freely first.

Missing a deadline over layer hunt is the worst. I've been in that exact spot. @troy_ross says to just start drawing, but I end up wasting time fixing things. Now I always list my layers first too. It makes everything so much easier later on.

Just start drawing, you can fix layers later like @quinn_young said.
