TIL a simple layer naming mistake cost me half a day

Was working on a site plan in AutoCAD for a new park in Springfield. Spent 4 hours trying to get the contour lines to plot correctly. Turned out I had the layer set to 'no plot' by accident. Has anyone else had a layer setting just wreck your schedule like that?

Half a day seems a bit much for a no-plot layer. Couldn't you just run a quick plot preview after the first hour to catch it? I'd have checked the layer manager way sooner.
