I was dead wrong about vertical monitor orientation

For like 2 years I thought people who stacked monitors vertically were just showing off. I mean, who wants to crane their neck up and down all day right? Then I got a coding project last month with super long log files and decided to try it with my old 24 inch turned sideways. Now I get it - reading 200 lines of error messages without scrolling is actually amazing. Has anyone else been converted to vertical after swearing it off?

Wait, did I write this post in my sleep or something? I had almost the exact same conversion story last month. Thought vertical monitors were some weird flex from people who wanted to look like they're piloting a spaceship. Then I tried reading a giant stack of server logs on my sideways 22 inch and literally said "oh" out loud. Now I feel like a total hypocrite every time I tilt my head left to look at it. I mean, it's not perfect for everything, but for long lists and error streams it's kind of magical.

Pretty much same thing happened to me but with code. I was debugging a nested JSON response that was like 800 lines deep and accidentally rotated my monitor while trying to clean it. Suddenly I could see the whole structure without scrolling like a maniac. Now I keep one vertical just for terminal and logs and honestly it feels like cheating lol.
