My Pixel 4a had those tiny screws, and I never stripped any during a battery swap. They seem delicate, but with careful handling, it's manageable (most of the time, anyway). Maybe it's more about technique than the hardware itself.
I read a forum post where a repair guy stressed using the right driver bit. He mentioned those screws are made of softer metal, so any wiggle ruins them. His tip was to press down firmly but slowly when unscrewing. Makes sense why some folks strip them and others don't.
