I spent $80 on a smart plug that ended up being my favorite dumb purchase
I got it about a year ago for a lamp in my living room, thinking it was just a silly gadget. I was wrong. I set it to turn that lamp on at sunset every day, and now I never come home to a dark house. It sounds small, but that little bit of light makes the whole place feel welcoming. I even use it for the coffee maker now, so it's ready when I wake up. It made me realize how much I used to fumble for switches or forget things. For something that just plugs into the wall, it fixed a tiny daily annoyance I didn't even fully see. Has anyone else found a simple smart home thing that just works without being complicated?

My buddy got one of those smart bulbs for his front porch light as a joke gift. He set it to turn on at dusk and now he says it's the best part of his day. He doesn't have to remember to flip the switch, and it makes his whole street look a bit nicer. It's funny how such a small automatic thing can lift your mood.
