Just got a warning from the county about my scrap pile
Last week, an inspector visited my shop and wrote me up for how I stored old horseshoes. They said rain water was washing metals into the ground, which can pollute the water supply. I had to pay a fine and now I keep all metal scrap in closed containers. Make sure your scrap area is covered to prevent this.
Honestly, that sucks about the fine. I know it feels like overkill, but they're really strict on runoff now. Hope you get it sorted without more hassle.
