My sister said my new dress looked like a 'sad picnic tablecloth' and I had to agree

I was so proud of this sundress I made from a vintage floral fabric I found in Portland. I showed it to my sister and she just stared for a second and said, 'It's giving sad picnic tablecloth, babe.' I looked at it again and she was totally right, the print was way too stiff and the cut was boxy. I took the whole thing apart, cut the fabric into smaller panels, and mixed it with some solid black cotton. Now it's a two-tone wrap dress that actually works. Has anyone else had a brutally honest comment save a project?

That "sad picnic tablecloth" line is the kind of specific roast that actually helps you see the problem.

My friend's mom called his painting a muddy mess, so he added bright yellow lines and saved it.
