Spent 3 hours yesterday trying to get a single rose to stand up straight in a foam block for a wedding arch. The stem was just slightly bent.

It's that weird thing where a tiny, almost invisible flaw becomes the only thing you can see. Like when one tile is a millimeter off and suddenly the whole floor looks wrong. You'll spend more time trying to fix that one bent stem than you did on the whole rest of the arch. It's not about the rose anymore, it's about beating the problem.

Ugh that's the worst. Try cutting the stem shorter and using a fresh piece of foam. Sometimes you can wire it straight with floral tape and a stick. Honestly after an hour I'd just swap it for a new rose.

lily394 is right that cutting it shorter helps, but what really saved me once was shoving a wooden skewer right up the center of the stem before putting it in the foam. It gave the rose enough backbone to stand straight without looking weird. I taped around the skewer with floral tape to hide it, and it blended in perfectly. The whole arch looked solid after that, nobody noticed the fix.
