Changed my mind about using a cheap crucible for a small bronze pour

Had a crucible crack on me halfway through a pour last Thursday, lost about 15 pounds of metal. My foreman said 'that's why we don't buy the bargain bin stuff for hot work' and he was right. What's your go-to brand for crucibles that can take the heat?

Bargain bin stuff" is right, I learned that lesson the hard way too with a cracked crucible. My wallet still hasn't forgiven me.

Switched to a Skutt kiln about five years back after my old one gave out mid-firing. It was a big upfront cost, but the thing just runs without any fuss. I haven't had a single piece ruined by equipment failure since. That reliability is worth every penny.
