The difference a proper respirator made on my last refinishing job was night and day.
I used to just use a dust mask, but after getting dizzy stripping a 1920s dresser last month, I switched to a 3M half-face with organic vapor cartridges. Anyone else have a go-to safety gear upgrade that changed their work?

Oh man, I feel that. I used to think safety glasses were for wimps until I got a wood chip embedded in my eyelid. That was a fun trip to urgent care. Now I look like a mad scientist with goggles, ear protection, the whole getup.

Totally get the mad scientist look. My turning point was a metal shaving that scratched my cornea. Now I won't even drill a hole without proper eye gear.
