Got a call for a 'simple window fix' that turned into a full glass rescue mission
Last month in Phoenix, a guy said his cat knocked over a cactus and cracked his patio door. When I got there, the cactus was fine but he'd tried to patch the glass with super glue and glitter. Had to explain why that's a bad idea for tempered glass. Anyone else run into a DIY repair that made the job ten times harder?

Craft-grade magic" is the perfect way to put it. That glitter wasn't a repair, it was just a distress signal for a professional. Some DIY spirit is just a cry for help with extra sparkle.

Wait, isn't tempered glass the kind that explodes into tiny pieces? I thought super glue on a crack in that stuff could actually make it shatter from the pressure. That's way worse than just a messy cleanup, the glitter is the least of his problems.

Super glue and glitter is a new one for me, but it really captures a certain kind of can-do spirit. That's the kind of creative fix that turns a simple glass swap into a full archaeology dig. You almost have to admire the commitment to making things sparkle while completely missing the point. What did he think was holding the glass together, craft-grade magic?
