Heard two guys at the gas station talking about a missing road in Bend, Oregon
One guy was telling the other he drove to a spot he knew near Pilot Butte, but the turn he always took just wasn't there anymore. He said the whole stretch of road was just gone, replaced by a field he'd never seen. It made me think about how many times I've felt that same weird 'shift' in a place I know well. Has anyone else had a local landmark or route just seem to vanish like that?

Did a road I poured vanish"... that's the thing, it didn't. Our brains just aren't perfect recorders. You probably just misremembered the exact spot after all this time. It happens to everyone.

So you're saying his brain just straight up erased a road he helped build? That's a pretty big detail to lose track of.
