My dog vanished from a locked room for exactly 37 seconds
I was in my kitchen in Charlotte making coffee when I heard a thump from my bedroom. I'd just put my dog, Scout, in there with the door shut because I was mopping. I opened the door and he was gone. The window was closed and locked. I ran back to the kitchen, totally confused, and there he was, just sitting by his bowl like normal. The whole thing took maybe 37 seconds. There's no other way out of that room. Has anyone else had a pet just teleport like that?

You said the window was closed and locked, but was it a sliding window? My old apartment in Charlotte had those cheap vinyl sliders that never really latched right. A determined dog could bump it just enough to slide it open and jump out, then push it mostly closed again on the way back in. Scout might have a secret patio route he's not telling you about.

Check for gaps under furniture or behind dressers. My cat pulled this once and was stuck behind a bookcase the whole time.
