Okay so my whole family swears grandma had this peach cobbler recipe but we can't find it anywhere. Are we all just misremembering the same thing, or did a recipe page straight up vanish from reality?

I always blamed bad memory for lost recipes, but losing digital stuff changed my view. It really does feel like pages vanish sometimes.

Oh man, welcome to the family recipe void! It's like the recipe got tired of being passed around and just packed its bags. Maybe it's secretly living a new life as a store-bought pie crust instructions on some other family's fridge.

Yeah, that happens all the time in my family too. In my experience, recipes disappear when no one bothers to copy them from old cookbooks. My aunt's famous stew recipe vanished because it was only in her head, and she never wrote it down. Now we just have to guess the ingredients, and it never tastes the same.
