That 'deja vu' feeling everyone calls a glitch might just be bad memory

Last week, I was sure I left my keys on the kitchen counter in my apartment, but they were in my jacket pocket from the day before. People post stuff like that here all the time saying reality shifted. But three years ago, I started writing down little things I was sure about, and I was wrong a lot. Maybe our brains just fill in gaps with what feels familiar. Has anyone else tried keeping a simple log before calling it a glitch?

Forget the log, that's just tracking your own mistakes. I'm talking about the times you know something changed for real. Like a whole building on your street that you swear wasn't there last week, or a song lyric everyone remembers wrong. Your brain might mess up where your keys are, but it doesn't invent entire details out of thin air. Those big, solid memories that don't match up feel totally different from just being forgetful. Writing it down doesn't explain why sometimes the world itself seems to flip for a second.

Wait, a whole building just showed up on your street?
