I finally gave up on that viral hair wax stick after wasting $35

Saw a ton of stylists on social media using this wax stick for textured looks. Bought one for $35 plus shipping. Used it on three clients last week and it just made their hair look greasy and clumpy, not piecey. Had to wash and redo each style, which cost me about an hour and a half of my day. The product is now sitting in my drawer. Has anyone found a good alternative for that separated, matte texture without the grease?

Ugh that sounds so frustrating! Had the same greasy mess happen with a different brand. Switched to a matte pomade and use way less than you'd think, like a pea sized amount for the whole head.

Honestly it's just hair wax. Maybe try a tiny bit of dry shampoo or even some matte clay instead.

Oh man, @iris_mason88 is right. At this point, just rub a french fry on your head for the same look.
