Almost ruined a bag of kettle chips with melted cheese at a gas station in Ohio

I stopped at a Pilot truck stop outside Toledo last weekend and grabbed a bag of jalapeno kettle chips and one of those cheese sticks from the hot roller. I tried melting the cheese over the chips in the microwave they had there for hot dogs, but I left it in for 45 seconds instead of 15 and the cheese turned into a rubbery mess that stuck to the bag. I scraped it off with a plastic spoon and it actually tasted fine, like a cheesy spicy crunch, but the cleanup was awful. Has anyone else done a gas station microwave junk food experiment that backfired?

@the_lucas called it, 45 seconds is basically a science experiment gone wrong. That rubbery cheese sounds like a crime scene but honestly I'd still eat it too.
