Sat out on my porch yesterday and a kid from two doors down walked by

I was just chilling in my lawn chair around 4 PM when this maybe 10 year old kid I barely know stopped and asked what I was looking at. I said clouds mostly. He squinted up and said that one looks like a broken ukulele, which honestly I had never thought of before. We talked for maybe 10 minutes about what each cloud looked like and he had way weirder ideas than me. Has anyone else had a random neighbor kid just walk up and say something that totally changed how you see something ordinary?

Wait hold on, a broken ukulele?! That's such a weirdly specific thing for a kid to say lmao. Like where does a 10 year old even get the idea of a broken ukulele in a cloud?

Yeah so my 7 year old pointed out yesterday that I've been walking past the same dead plant on the porch for like 3 months. I just... stopped seeing it, you know? It's a brown stick in a pot and my brain literally filtered it out. Meanwhile she noticed the way the light hits the dust on the ceiling fan and asked if it was "art." Kids are basically tiny detectives with no filter and honestly I'm a little embarrassed at how much stuff I just tune out these days.
