Question about the trend towards slick podcast editing

I think too much editing takes the life out of conversations. Some of my favorite moments come from awkward pauses or mistakes. Podcasts should feel real, not like a TV show.

Who actually cares that much?

Yeah, why don't you care? I actually used to prefer the super clean, edited shows. Changed my mind after hearing a host laugh at his own mispronunciation. That bit of realness stuck with me more than any scripted line. Now the over-produced ones just feel fake.

Totally get where you're coming from. There's this one show I listen to where the host messes up a word and then cracks up for a full minute. That laugh is way more fun than any smooth change. Too much editing can make it all sound like a robot read it. Those little human slips are what make podcasts feel like real chats. It's like we're listening to a script instead of a conversation.
