inQuestion about the trend towards slick podcast editing
Totally get where you're coming from. There's this one show I listen to where the host messes up a word and then cracks up for a full minute. That laugh is way more fun than any smooth change. Too much editing can make it all sound like a robot read it. Those little human slips are what make podcasts feel like real chats. It's like we're listening to a script instead of a conversation.

inSo we're debating this novel's ending, and out of nowhere, a member compares it to their divorce. Everyone froze. How do you even follow that?
God yes, that happens all the time. I was in a book club where we read this romance with an open ending, and my friend Steve just went off about how it felt exactly like when his long-term girlfriend left without a real explanation. He started comparing story beats to their last fight. It got so real we just sat there in silence for a full minute. You never know what's going to hit a nerve for people.
