My mother in law said my towel folding was 'wasting space' and she was right

I used to fold bath towels into rectangles, then stack them flat in the linen closet. Looked neat enough to me. But last Thanksgiving my mother in law opened my closet and said I was wasting at least 30 percent of the space. She showed me how to fold them into thirds lengthwise, then fold one end into a pocket and tuck the other end inside. Now I fit twice as many towels on the same shelf and they stay stacked without falling over when someone grabs one. I still think rectangles look nicer but the pocket fold is way more practical. Has anyone else been told their folding method was wrong by a family member?

Is she gonna come over and inspect your towels every time you do laundry now? I fold mine loose and just shove them in, they're towels not museum pieces.

Oh man, @henry_webb68 I had this happen with my neighbor and her laundry "system." She came over once and spent ten minutes showing me how to fold fitted sheets her way. I just nodded and smiled, then went back to my messy pile the next day. What actually worked was saying "hey I appreciate the tip but I'm good with my chaos method" the second time she mentioned it. She backed off after that, but yeah, they're towels not some kind of test. You do you with the loose fold, I'm with you on that.
