Got my project watch's regulator to settle down

This old watch was running way too fast. I tried adjusting the regulator, but it kept slipping. Then I cleaned the balance cock and gave it another go, and now it's ticking just right. Feels great to fix it myself.

Isn't it satisfying when you beat a stubborn watch? I hate when regulators slip. Cleaning the balance cock usually helps, but it's a finicky job. It takes patience to get it right. When you do, it's a real accomplishment. You must feel pretty proud now.

I mean, I always figured you needed special tools for regulator work. But messing with this old pocket watch myself totally changed my mind. That tiny screw just needed a steady hand, I guess.
