inSwitching to a small bag for short trips cut my costs big time
Took the airlines basically charging us for air to finally figure that one out. Remember stuffing a giant suitcase for two days like we were moving countries. That first time you see the checked bag fee on the screen is a real slap in the face. Now it's almost a game to see how little you actually need. They're probably mad we caught on to their little money grab.

inDebating the merits of hands-off leadership versus daily oversight in our butcher shop
How much supervision does a trained professional really need while holding sharp instruments? I've found butchers left entirely to their own devices tend to invent new cuts of meat, and not always the kind you'd want to sell. A little structure prevents artistic expression from turning into a health code violation.

inShowerthought: I used to scoff at torque wrench calibration, until it saved a landing gear job
Heard about a buddy of mine who shrugged off calibration until his engine mount bolts started singing a stress chorus mid-flight. Kinda echoes what @patricia732 said about tiny errors snowballing into system failures. Turns out his wrench was so far out it was basically guessing, and he only found out during a routine audit that probably saved his bacon. The shop foreman made him recalibrate every tool in his box, which was a brutal but necessary lesson. Now he treats calibration like his morning coffee, absolutely essential before touching anything critical.
