Why does nobody talk about how coding error messages often leave you guessing?

I was working on a basic JavaScript function and got an error that just said 'undefined'... no hint on what went wrong. Had to search online for hours to figure out it was a missing return statement. It's frustrating when you're learning and the tools don't point you in the right direction. Makes the whole process feel way harder than it should be... wish there was better guidance built in.

Thought starters were essential, now I'm not so sure

I was sure you needed starters for every ferment to work right. But my last sauerkraut turned out great with just salt and cabbage. Has anyone else had good luck without them? I'd love your thoughts on when starters actually help. This really flipped my thinking lmao.

Cleaning out my garage, I found my first drafting kit

I was sorting through boxes and saw my old kit with triangles and scales. It took me back to using ink on mylar, where a smudge could ruin hours of work. Now, with computer programs, fixing errors is quick and easy. What parts of hand drafting do you kind of miss?
