Customer baked me a pie after a speedy fix, but is a thank you note too much?

I cleared a blocked drain in like twenty minutes this morning. The lady was so happy she made me a whole apple pie from scratch. Some folks in the trade say you gotta send a card or call later, but my buddy says it's just extra work. Curious what you all do after a win like that.

My buddy's a plumber and once got a full lasagna for fixing a leak. He just sent a quick text saying it made his week, and the customer told everyone she knew. That little bit of follow-up basically got him three new jobs. Seems like a two minute text is a pretty good trade for more work down the road.

Your buddy's lasagna story proves a simple text can build real loyalty, @hugo_cooper.

Oh man, that reminds me of my neighbor's kid who used to mow lawns. He'd sometimes find like a five dollar bill stuck to a wet patch of grass or something, and his mom made him draw these little "thank you" pictures to give back. One lady loved it so much she basically had him do her whole yard every week all summer. It’s wild how a tiny thing like that just sticks with people. Makes them feel seen, you know?
