After 15 years, I finally switched from hand sanding to a 3M Hookit system for feather edging
I used to spend hours on a single panel with a block and paper, especially on tricky curves. A guy at the trade show in Charlotte last year convinced me to try their 2-inch disc system on a flexible pad. It cut my time on a basic fender repair from about 45 minutes down to maybe 15, and the finish is way more even. Has anyone else made a switch like that and found it hard to go back to the old way?

Remember my buddy who swore by his hand block? He borrowed my orbital for a small door ding and got the whole thing done before his coffee got cold. He said it felt like he'd been doing math with an abacus his whole life and someone just handed him a calculator. Now he's trying to explain the cost of the new setup to his wife.

You mentioned cutting your time from 45 minutes to 15, that's crazy. I tried a buddy's similar setup once and it felt like cheating. How do you even go back to a block after that, you know? The only downside is now I want one for every little job.
