Warning: I kept having my clippers bog down mid-fade on thick hair

Turns out I was running the blade tension way too loose and it only took me 3 years of struggling to figure out why my adjustable clippers kept stopping dead on a heavy blend, has anyone else had that issue with their clipper tension adjustment?

Spent 4 years doing the exact same thing with my Wahl clippers and couldn't figure out why they'd choke on thick hair. Finally watched a youtube video in a panic one day and saw the guy crank the tension screw all the way down and then back it off just a hair. Tried it and it felt wrong at first (you know, like I was gonna break something) but man it cut through thick hair like butter after that. I'd been running mine so loose the blade was basically just floating and not actually cutting.

Yeah I heard the same thing from a barber once. Crazy how much difference it makes.
