Whole afternoon wasted on a trimmer line change
I swear my Stihl trimmer was designed by a sadist. Tried swapping the line on my FS 55 today and it took me almost 2 hours to get that stupid bump head apart. Had to watch three YouTube videos and finally used a flathead screwdriver to pry the thing open. Anyone else swear at their equipment for way longer than the actual job takes?

Did you try tapping it on the ground while you pulled the string? My buddy Dave spent a full hour fighting his FS 55 bump head in his garage, cussing so loud the neighbors called to check on him. He finally gave up, threw the whole trimmer in the truck, and drove to the local Stihl dealer where the guy popped it open in 30 seconds with a special tool. Dave said he felt like an idiot but at least he didn't have to watch another tutorial.

Had the same battle with my FS 55 last spring. That bump head is a nightmare to get apart. Ended up buying a SpeedFeed head for it, best money I ever spent on that trimmer.
