Shoutout to the volunteer who labeled the weeds at the city park
I was walking through Miller Park last weekend and saw little signs stuck in the ground next to what most people call weeds. One said 'Broadleaf Plantain, a useful medicinal herb'. It was just a simple laminated card on a stick, but it totally changed how I saw that patch of grass. Now I'm looking at common yard plants in a whole new way. Has anyone else found a cool, simple way to learn about local plants in public spaces?

What park was that in? I'd love to check out those signs myself.

I read somewhere that those signs were part of a local history project.

Yeah, it's funny how a tiny bit of context can make you see ordinary stuff completely differently. I've noticed that happening with street art too, where a simple plaque explaining the artist's idea makes you stop and actually look at a wall you've walked past a hundred times.
