The comic shop by my house stopped doing pull lists and it's chaos now

Went in last Wednesday for the new issue of X-Men and they told me they just toss everything on the shelf first come first served now. Been going there for 4 years with a pull box. Owner said it was too much work tracking who picked up what. I ended up grabbing a copy of something else just to make the trip worth it, but now I gotta drive 20 minutes to the next shop. Anyone else's local shop change something basic and mess up the whole routine?

That store owner just didn't want to deal with the customer service part of running a comic shop. Pull lists are the backbone of local stores, they guarantee steady income from regulars. I've seen this happen before where a shop switches to all first come first serve and their regulars scatter to other stores within a month. The owner might save a little time but they lose the loyal customers who actually kept them in business.

Forget something obvious though @jakep24 - pull lists tie up cash in books nobody might buy.
