Fell for that expensive brush pack hype and wasted $80

I kept seeing these premium digital brush sets all over Instagram. Artists I follow were raving about them. So I dropped $80 on a bundle from a popular creator. Thought they would magically make my art look better. Turns out my free default brushes in Procreate work just as fine. I spent half an hour messing with settings and got frustrated. The only difference was a few texture options I never use. Have you guys ever bought a fancy tool and regretted it right away?

Wait, you mean my art won't magically level up just because I spent a stupid amount on brushes? Ngl I did the exact same thing last year with a watercolor set from some famous artist. Honestly I felt like a total clown after I realized the default round brush does 90% of the work. Tbh I still buy fancy tools sometimes though, just to feel like I'm being productive instead of actually practicing.

@iris_mason88 So you're saying buying better gear never helps at all? I get the default brush thing but good tools do make a difference sometimes. I upgraded my tablet last year. Old one was fine but new one has better pressure sensitivity. Actually changed how I draw. Less frustration, more control. It's not magic though. You still gotta put in the hours. But better tools can remove roadblocks. Just saying, don't feel bad about buying stuff that actually improves your workflow.
