Had a gallery show last Friday where someone asked if my digital painting was 'enhanced by AI'
I was at this small gallery in downtown Portland during First Friday. A woman stared at my piece for like five minutes then asked if I used Midjourney to 'help with the hard parts.' I told her I spent 40 hours on it in Procreate and she just nodded like she didn't believe me. It's happened three times now since AI art got big. Anyone else getting this question at shows or online?

@phoenixgonzalez my buddy brought a sketchbook to his last show and people still asked if the pencil studies were "ai practice

Got asked the same thing at a pop up show in Austin last month. Some guy pointed at my watercolor portrait and said "so what prompt did you feed it?" I wanted to scream. Told him I hand mixed every wash and he just shrugged and walked off. Honestly makes me feel like I gotta bring a time lapse video to every show now just to prove I actually painted it.
