Spent a full day trying to get a custom title block to scale right in AutoCAD
I was setting up a drawing for a big shop project and the border kept printing way too small, no matter what I changed in the layout. It turned out I had the viewport scale locked from an old template, which took me about 7 hours to figure out. Has anyone else run into a weird scaling issue that ate up a whole workday?

Millimeters when the whole project was in inches" is a new level of bad.

That millimeter mix-up is a different kind of scaling problem, though. The locked viewport just stops you from zooming, it doesn't change the actual print size like unit errors do. Both will ruin your day, but in their own special ways.

Man, does that locked viewport scale thing still happen? I read a forum post last year where a guy had the same problem, but his template was set to use millimeters when his whole project was in inches. He said it made everything look fine on screen but print out tiny, just like you described. It's crazy how one old setting you forget about can waste so much time. I always do a full purge and audit on old templates now because of stories like that. It feels like AutoCAD hides these little traps on purpose sometimes.
