I mean, ruby561 has a point about it being a side dish, but that bacon grease trick is a game changer. It's not even extra work if you save your grease in a jar like a normal person. Maybe it's just me but a cheap pan with bacon fat beats an expensive one without it any day. The flavor it adds is the whole reason I even make the side dish in the first place.
