Had a draft horse go down on me in the middle of a trim last month
I was at a stable in Lancaster, working on a big Belgian. Had his front foot up in the apron when he just started to sway. Next thing I know, he's leaning hard and going down. I had to shove his leg off me and roll clear. He was fine, just decided to take a nap. Took about 20 minutes of gentle coaxing and a bucket of grain to get him back up. Anyone had a horse decide to lay down mid-job and how'd you handle it?

Glad you got clear. Usually call that a "cast" horse, not just taking a nap.

Ha, I was definitely giving my city kid ignorance away there!

Always called it a horse stuck against the wall, but cast makes more sense.
