The time a delivery van full of roses got stuck in my shop's back alley
Last Tuesday in Portland, a driver tried to cut through our narrow alley to save time and wedged his van between our dumpster and a brick wall. He had 200 stems of red roses for a big wedding order that needed processing. We ended up having four of us carefully unload every box through the van's side door while he waited for a tow truck. Has anyone else had a delivery go this sideways right before a major event?

Wedding roses in an alley is a special kind of irony. That driver's time-saving shortcut probably cost more than just the tow bill. I bet the florist's blood pressure was the real casualty that day.

Imagine the poor bride's face when her roses show up smelling like dumpster instead of romance. Paul233 is right about the florist, but I'd worry more about the marriage starting with that kind of omen. Some shortcuts just aren't worth the long term memory.

reminds me of when a pallet of wedding cakes got stuck in a freight elevator at my buddy's bakery. the whole building smelled like frosting for a week and the bride showed up in person to yell at someone. we had to carry each tier down three flights of stairs and the buttercream was sliding off by the time we got them to the van. delivery day before a big event is always cursed lol.
