A chat with my barber made me question a memory from my old apartment
I was getting a haircut last Thursday and told my barber, Mike, about how I used to have this specific blue coffee mug in my first place in Columbus. I described it perfectly, even the little chip on the handle. He looked confused and said, 'Man, you told me that story two years ago, but you said it was a green mug with a crack on the rim.' I was sure it was blue. I went home and dug through an old box of photos and found a picture from that kitchen. The mug was green. It's like my brain just rewrote a tiny, solid detail. Has anyone else had a friend correct a small memory that you were totally certain about?

lol I mean come on, is it really that serious though? The mug was either blue or green, it's not like you remembered your whole apartment had a different floor plan or something. I've definitely got memories that are probably wrong about dumb stuff like that but I'm not about to start digging through old photo boxes over a coffee mug. My buddy swore up and down we saw a certain movie in theaters together and I'd bet money we didnt, but at the end of the day who cares lol

Yeah, brains are weird like that. I swore my first car was red until my mom showed me a picture and it was definitely beige.

Ever have that happen with a work order? I'll write down a house has a vinyl fence, get there and it's wood. Like @adam_anderson6 said, brains just tape over the old details sometimes. I keep a small notebook in the truck now for stuff I need to remember exactly.
