My uncle swore by wood glue on vinyl skips and I finally tried it on a $3 Fleetwood Mac copy
I dabbed a tiny drop on the seam split with a toothpick, clamped it between two books overnight, and it played clean as a whistle the next morning, has anyone else fixed cracked sleeves this way without wrecking the jacket?

My copy of Rumours had a split down the spine so I hit it with some Elmer's on the inside edge, let it dry flat under a stack of textbooks, and it's held up fine for like four years now.

Yeah I totally get that it worked, but Elmer's dries kind of brittle over time and that spine might crack again if you actually open the record flat. I've had better luck with bookbinding glue for album jackets since it stays flexible.

People always say Elmer's is too brittle but honestly if it worked for four years on your Rumours copy that's pretty solid proof. I've had bookbinding glue actually seep through the paper and make a mess on my sleeve art before. Sometimes the simplest fix is the best fix, you know?
