My nephew bent the film advance lever on my Pentax K1000. How do I fix it gently?

Use small pliers to carefully straighten the lever while holding the base. I fixed mine like that, just go slow so you don't snap the spring.

Dealing with knee pain, I tried some simple stretches before my hike yesterday... and no soreness today.

My friend had chronic knee pain from running and her coach finally pointed to her quads. She started doing those stretches twice a day and called me a week later SHOOK. Said her knee felt completely different and she could actually walk without wincing. It was a total night and day situation for her. Now she texts me reminders to stretch my own legs.

PSA: My simple trick for making friends in a new country

Totally get that! My version was trying to befriend the quiet owner of a local bakery by going every Tuesday. It took a month before he even smiled, but now we chat about the weather. Your story, @rayross, makes me feel better about my slow progress. Sometimes the quiet spots work, just on a longer timeline.

The parking space that wasn't there yesterday

Checking old photos on your phone and having them show the bike rack too is absolutely wild. That's supposed to be your proof of reality and it's working against you. I got full body chills reading that part. This feels like one of those glitch stories that just gets under your skin.

Attempting a broom finish on my walkway created a comedy of errors...

Ugh, the dry broom thing is so real, @rubyreed. Your bucket trick sounds like a lifesaver.
