My cousin's kitchen still smells like garlic from a blown jar of kraut. Tell her to use the plastic lid from a yogurt container under the ring, it lets just enough gas seep out. Or put the whole jar inside a big bowl, so if it does pop, the mess is contained. Honestly, showing her a picture of exploded peppers on a ceiling might be the best lesson.

You mentioned the digital wrench catching bolts just under spec. That's actually a good thing, because "just under" on a clicker can be dangerously loose in the real world. The extra money buys you that margin.

Actually, it takes about 30 minutes for your eyes to fully adapt to the dark. That red light tip is a total game changer though. What kind of binoculars do you use?
