Noticed this happens a lot with handy people. They find a cheap leftover thing and just... make it work for something totally different. Like my neighbor uses old straw bales for a garden border, stuff like that. The vinyl scraps are just another version of that. Makes me wonder how many good fixes we're sitting on, just using stuff wrong on purpose.

Isn't this the same story with so many things that got cheaper and easier? Look at how we shop online now. You can find any item at a low price, but then folks end up buying clutter they don't need because it was a "good deal." The access makes us careless, not smarter, just like jumping into flashy stocks.
